The Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition's mission is to empower Ohio's incarcerated; their families and minor children, and other at-risk youth to improve their outcomes and enhance their overall quality of life socially, emotionally, financially, spiritually and physically

To see all incarcerated individuals successfully recover from a life of imprisonment and reunited with their families; being seen as people who can lead productive lives in the community, thereby decreasing the overall stress on the family unit and reducing recidivism.

Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition's faith-based service delivery models balance innovative ideas and relevant research with sound business practices that apply Christ's example of love and good stewardship in meeting the needs of the target population. To that end, the organization's core values are:

Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition believes that it is our responsibility to make the loving touch of God REAL and PERSONAL in the lives of those who are suffering and hurting. Our ultimate goal is to carry out the philosophy of Jesus Christ, "I was hungered an ye fed me, thirsty and ye gave me drink, a stranger and ye took me in, naked and ye clothed me, sick and ye visited me, in prison and ye came unto me... Inasmuch as ye have done it unto others, ye have done it unto me." (Holy Bible, Matthew 25:35-36 & 40 c, d)

Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition will provide services that respond to the needs of those we serve on all levels to assure their individual and collective success. To that end, we will provide quality services to our consumers with compassion, patience and care.

Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition respects the differences of others with integrity. We value the rights of the less fortunate to peacefully co-exist in the community. Our board members, staff and volunteers work as a team to restore dignity and esteem to the less fortunate.

The Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition is an interfaith, non profit partnership of churches, social services organizations, businesses, and other non-profit service providers. Our mission is to provide compassionate services to Ohio 's incarcerated population and their families and minor children to improve their overall quality of life socially, financially, academically, emotionally and spiritually. Our services include, but are not limited to, mentoring, case management, tutoring, literacy, homework assistance, workforce development, job readiness and prison video visitation services to strengthen Ohio families via our Project I.M.P.A.C.T. program. The acronym stands for Incarcerated Mothers, Parents AndChildren's Televisitation. Currently, the organization targets low income families of Ohio State inmates; their family members, the minor children of incarcerated parents and at-risk youth aging out of foster care in Cuyahoga County.

Cleveland Eastside Ex-Offender Coalition began in 2001 with a heart to serve and minister to the hungry, the sick, the socially displaced, those in prison and the spiritually thirsty-just as Jesus Christ had done when He lived on earth. Seeing the potential synergy between churches, social services organizations, and government agencies to meet these needs, organization founder Caroljean Gates, began establishing a network of members and partners with the same heart to serve. In developing the scope of services, CEEC used a three-year study conducted by The Center for Community Solutions and United Way Services. Based on that research and the vast experience of its members, CEEC proposed to address some of the most critical problems facing our communities in the 21st century.

CEEC also actively promotes collaboration; working with its network of partner and member organizations to effectively deliver services. Our faith-based programming models balance following Christ's example with a business practical approach to programming that meets needs. CEEC currently provides its programs and services free to the community at-large. To date, CEEC has helped over two thousand individuals bridge physical, social and educational barriers to give hope and improve lifestyles for the better.
